Lightweight Medium Power 1/1 Current Balun for Wire Antennas. (DISCONTINUED)

On special request of several customers, we construct at present a lightweight, medium power variant of our well known 1/1 current balun for wire antennas.
The standard 1/1 ON7FU current baluns are rated 3kW+.
In order to accomplish this, a large ferrite toroidal core and associated large enclosure are used.
Add to this the weight of the potting material and stainless steel hardware, and you can understand that the weight rises to 500 grams.
This does not necessarily cause problems, as the balun contains provisions for central support, like it normally the case with the classic well known inverted-V set-up.
In many cases, and especially for portable deployment, low weight is often more important than high power capability.
Therefore we designed on specific demand a variant with the characteristics given below.
This Guanella current balun is (just like all other ON7FU products) constructed on a toroidal ferrite core, which ensures (unlike ferrite rod based products) a closed magnetic circuit, thus ensuring minimum stray fields and minimum parasitic effects.
